Family Boatbuilding Week - July 10, 2011 8:00 AM. Enjoy the magic of taking a stack of boards and making a handsome skiff, completely painted and race-ready during the museum’s 7th annual Family Boatbuilding Week. Your $750.00 for a 12 footer or $950.00 for 14 footer will provide everything needed to complete your boat, including a hand-lettered name

Skiff Race, Awards and Fish Fry - An event-filled day caps off Family Boatbuilding Week. From 11 - 12 noon, watch the newly-built skiffs with their crews race around the marks to victory. Everyone gets a prize at the Awards Ceremony immediately after the race. Billz Bistro, the Museum's Galley, opens at noon with fish fillets, burgers, hot dogs, and sides. Tea, bottled water and soft drinks are also available.

From paintings to pottery, wood and glass, copper and steel, the mediums vary but the quality of the art makes for

Urbanna Oyster Festival Friday: 9am to Midnight. Saturday: 9am to 6pm Virginia’s official oyster festival. Over 75,000 visitors come to walk around one of the nation’s oldest seaports, sampling oysters, seafood and other tasty regional specialties, taking in music and waterfront exhibits and snapping up funky novelty items and fabulous finds like hand-knit sweaters at bargain prices and one-of-a-kind arts and crafts. Highlights include Friday night’s Firemen’s Parade (7pm), Saturday’s Virginia State Oyster Shucking Contest (11am) and the right-out-of-Norman-Rockwell Oyster Festival Parade (2pm).

Pierwalk Promenade at Holly Point. We'll have the whole Deltaville Maritime Museum flotilla at the dock! Visitors can look, ask questions, soak up the history, or just take a Pierwalk Promenade. Free creek cruises and "Explorer" rides. Billz Bistro will be open. Bring your boat shoes and a silly hat and walk off that turkey!

Urbanna Christmas House Tour | $ 10am to 4pm | Shuttles depart Urbanna United Methodist Church at Cross & Marston Streets | Private homes and historic sites in and around Urbanna are decked out for the holidays—and you’re invited to come inside.
